Product Introduction

HA992 COMPLEX ANTI-FOAM

HA992 Complex Anti-Foam is a compound antifoam additive designed mainly for lubricating oils and other non-aqueous oil systems. It combines:

  • A silicone antifoam for rapid and efficient surface-foam control.
  • A non-silicone polyacrylate antifoam for better dispersion, longer-lasting performance and less interference with air release.

“Complex” here means a blended or hybrid formulation—not a single chemical compound. According to the manufacturer, HA992 is a light-yellow liquid with good dispersibility in both light and heavy oils. The recommended treat rate is 0.01–0.03 wt%, equivalent to approximately 100–300 ppm. Its stated flash point is at least 50°C.

HA992 COMPLEX ANTI-FOAM Advantages

1. Rapid Foam Suppression

The silicone component quickly breaks surface foam and helps prevent excessive foam formation during circulation, agitation and high-speed operation.

2. Better Air-Release Balance

Conventional silicone antifoams can control surface foam effectively but may slow the release of small air bubbles. The polyacrylate component helps reduce this disadvantage.

3. Good Additive Compatibility

HA992 is designed to work with common lubricant additives such as detergents, dispersants, antioxidants, anti-wear agents, corrosion inhibitors and viscosity-index improvers. Nevertheless, compatibility must still be verified in the complete formulation.

4. Dispersibility Across Different Oil Viscosities

The manufacturer states that HA992 disperses effectively in both light and heavy oils, making it potentially suitable for a wider range of lubricant formulations.

5. Low Treat Rate

A typical dosage of 0.01–0.03% allows formulators to control foam without adding a large quantity of additive.

6. Improved Lubricant Reliability

Proper foam control can help prevent:

  • Pump cavitation
  • Unstable hydraulic pressure
  • Inadequate lubricant-film formation
  • Oil overflow from reservoirs
  • Accelerated oxidation
  • Poor heat transfer
  • Erratic equipment operation

Popular Applications

ApplicationWhy Anti-Foam Performance Matters
Hydraulic oilsControls foam caused by rapid circulation, return-line turbulence and pump operation
Industrial gear oilsReduces foaming generated by gear churning and splash lubrication
Engine oilsHelps control foam caused by crankshaft movement, circulation and detergent-rich formulations
Transmission fluidsSupports stable lubrication and hydraulic response in aeration-prone systems
Turbine oilsHelps maintain good air release and dependable oil circulation
Compressor oilsReduces foam associated with agitation, pressure changes and gas contact
Circulating oilsPrevents reservoir foam and unstable lubricant delivery
Marine lubricantsSupports foam control in highly circulated oil systems
Heavy-duty industrial oilsOffers dispersion in higher-viscosity formulations
General mineral-oil formulationsSuitable for finished lubricants where silicone-only antifoams cause air-release concerns
